E7M1: Danger Room

This is post 50. It certainly feels like a milestone!

I’m very happy to use this space to promote a new Fourthcore Team Deathmatch board by @DeuceDM. Anthony had a great idea for a wild romp through the X-Men’s iconic Danger Room. After he did all the heavy lifting, he asked if I would take a look and gave me free rein to knit-pick. As a former member of the Merry Marvel Marching Society (in spirit only, and as an ex-comic book store owner), I was more than happy to assist. 🙂

The current version of the board can be found here. Hopefully we’ll get a match on the FTDM PbP soon. The PbP exists to shake out the kinks before the boards see play in the wild, where matches last an hour. If you have a mind to, leave a comment and help the Deuce make the Danger Room the best at what it does!

In between everything else, we talked about maybe revising the board after the fact to use pre-gen stat-blocks of X-men and villains instead of the template cards so people who don’t have access to 4th Edition D&D can join in the mayhem. I think he has another project in mind, which would leave that conversion to me (as if I finish anything on my own :p). Still, I’m excited enough that I may get a first draft done. From there, having an enthusiastic partner to bounce ideas from will go a long way to keeping me on task.

This was my first collaboration on a project and I have to say that it was a great experience. Can’t think of a nicer way to celebrate my 50th blog post than to say “Thanks!”
